ANDREW LOUIS CAUTHEN

Andrew Cauthen, served as DeKalb County’s communication manager and chief communications officer from 2016 to 2025, most recently serving under former DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond.

An award-winning journalist with extensive experience covering local and state government in South Carolina and Georgia, Cauthen has more than 20 years of journalism and communications experience. 

Prior to joining the county, Cauthen, who holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Clemson University, served as the managing editor of The Champion, DeKalb’s legal organ.

Andrew is the co-owner of ReVamped Furnishings, an antique furniture restoration enterprise that he operates with his wife, Deanna. He is also the logistic manager for Cauthen Enterprises, a limited liability corporation that facilitates retail sales for small businesses in the form of pop-up markets.

DEANNA JOHNSON CAUTHEN

Deanna Johnson Cauthen is the CEO of Cauthen Enterprises, a business that facilitates retail sales for small businesses in the form of pop-up markets.

Mrs. Cauthen is also the creator of The Elevate Talk Show Channel, and the host of ‘Spot On’, a talk show that highlights the work and achievements of Atlanta entrepreneurs. 

A former contributing writer for the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, and other local and national news outlets, Deanna has written stories on a variety of topics including public school and home education, adoption, housing disparities, health and wellness, church and religion, and more. 

Mrs. Cauthen is the former host of The Working Woman Radio Show, a podcast that showcased conversations about the unique issues that working women face.

In March of 2021, Deanna was recognized for her work with The Working Woman Radio Show, and received a commendation from the State of Georgia “for her impressive accomplishments”.

Mrs. Cauthen is the co-owner of ReVamped Furnishings, an antique furniture restoration enterprise that she operates with her husband, Andrew.
